Global Google Elastic Search - Restore Files and Folders the Cohesity Way

Restoring files and VMs from a backup job is the fundamental reason anyone would protect their data.
Restoring files and folders doesn't have to be complicated or cumbersome, and it should not be limited to being able to search to restore files on a VM by VM basis.
The search has to be global i.e across the entire dataset that has been protected.
The idea of the search is that one would like to search for what they are looking for across the entire dataset ( all the jobs, all the VMs, all the NFS/SMB filesystems) that have been protected. This search and restore capability is a very very powerful function. This can save many man hours when people are tasked with the job of restoring files.
Let's see in the video how this particular restore capability works in Cohesity platform. The platform has been created from scratch with Data Protection and Data Management in mind.
The video starts with searching for random filenames, and the Google Elastic Search engine inside the Cohesity platform very efficiently goes thru the index of the entire dataset and finds the files with the given name or wildcard characters one is searching for.
Once the files to be restored are determined, then various filters can be used  to navigate and narrow down to the exact VM, or backup job or View (NFS/SMB filesystem). The system further also has the option to restore back to source ( the VM which the file came from ) or to another vCenter and another VM.
Searching and restoring files could not be easier. Check out the Cohesity platform if you are in search for a next generation Data Protection and Data Management platform.
